En inscrivant deux buts chacun lors de la 38e et dernière journée, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal) et Sadio Mané (Liverpool) ont rejoint Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) au faîte de la hiérarchie.
Le Gabonais a inscrit les deux premiers buts des Gunners face à Burnley (1-3), alors que le Sénégalais a été l'unique buteur lors de la victoire des Reds contre Wolverhampton (2-0).
Interrogé par les médias après le match, l'entraîneur de Liverpool Jürgen Klopp pensait que seuls ses deux joueurs Salah et Mané se partageaient le titre de meilleur buteur, avant d'être informé qu'Aubameyang avait également marqué 22 buts.
"Auba aussi ? Alors ils ont trois souliers d'or ? C'est bien. Ce sont tous les trois mes joueurs", a réagi l'entraîneur allemand, qui avait recruté Aubameyang à Dortmund en 2013.
Sergio Agüero, le buteur argentin de Manchester City, sacré champion dimanche pour la deuxième année de suite, échoue à une unité du trio de tête, malgré son but qui a contribué à la victoire des siens contre Brighton (1-4).
